Mechanical Property Differences between PP and PE

Mechanical property differences between PP and PE:

PP material: It possesses excellent tensile strength and toughness, which makes it widely used in the manufacture of plastic products, automotive parts, and electronic components. However, PP material has low dimensional accuracy, insufficient rigidity, poor weather resistance, and exhibits post-shrinkage, becoming prone to aging, embrittlement, and deformation after demolding.

Polyethylene (PE) material: Due to its molecular structure characteristics, PE material exhibits relatively low tensile strength and toughness. However, it maintains good mechanical properties at low temperatures, making it commonly used in the manufacture of products requiring low-temperature resistance.

1. PP material: Its advantages include environmental friendliness, durability, and strong processability; while its disadvantages include low dimensional accuracy, insufficient rigidity, and poor weather resistance.

2. PE material: Its advantages include excellent low-temperature resistance, good chemical stability, and superior electrical insulation properties; however, its disadvantages include relatively low tensile strength and toughness.
