Elevator cables

Elevator cables are typically composed of conductors, insulation layers, shielding layers, sheaths, and other components, and possess excellent flexibility, wear resistance, and anti-interference capabilities to accommodate the vertical operation requirements of elevators.
The conductors of elevator cables are typically made of multi-strand ultra-fine and precisely stranded oxygen-free copper wires, complying with the VDE0295 CLASS 5 standard. The insulation materials are mostly special blended PVC insulation, with color coding in accordance with the GB5023.6 standard. Additionally, elevator cables may also include reinforcements, such as high-strength galvanized aviation steel wires, to enhance tensile strength and durability.

The types of elevator cables mainly include flat and flat-plate cables. Flat cables, commonly denoted as TVVB, are suitable for traveling cables, while flat-plate cables are used for video signal transmission and other applications. The rated voltage of elevator cables is generally 300/500V, with a test voltage of 2500V. The operating temperature range is usually between -15℃ and 70℃.

During installation, elevator cables must be protected from direct sunlight, high temperatures, sources of ignition, and corrosive substances. Regular inspection and maintenance are also essential to ensure their proper functioning and prolong their lifespan. Furthermore, the design of elevator cables must consider their resistance to electromagnetic interference, aiming to guarantee the stability and safety of signal transmission.

In summary, elevator cables are indispensable and crucial components in the elevator system, and their performance directly impacts the safe operation and efficiency of the elevator. Therefore, when selecting and maintaining elevator cables, various factors need to be comprehensively considered to ensure the use of high-quality products and regular maintenance.
