Zur \u00dcbertragungsreichweite von Twisted-Pair-Kabeln:<\/p>\n

Ein Twisted-Pair-Kabel besteht aus einem Paar miteinander verdrillter, voneinander isolierter Metalldr\u00e4hte. Diese Bauweise sch\u00fctzt nicht nur vor elektromagnetischen St\u00f6rungen aus der Umgebung, sondern verringert auch die gegenseitigen St\u00f6rungen zwischen mehreren verdrillten Adernpaaren. Wenn zwei isolierte Dr\u00e4hte miteinander verdrillt sind, wirkt das St\u00f6rsignal, das auf diese beiden miteinander verflochtenen Dr\u00e4hte einwirkt, gleichm\u00e4\u00dfig (das hier erw\u00e4hnte St\u00f6rsignal wird als Gleichtaktsignal bezeichnet). In der Differenzschaltung, die das Signal empf\u00e4ngt, kann das Gleichtaktsignal eliminiert werden, wodurch das Nutzsignal (Differenzmodussignal) extrahiert wird.<\/p>\n

Die Funktion von Twisted-Pair-Kabeln besteht darin, die durch externe St\u00f6rungen auf den beiden Adern erzeugten St\u00f6rsignale identisch zu machen, sodass die nachgeschaltete Differenzschaltung das Nutzsignal extrahieren kann. Die Differenzschaltung ist eine Subtraktionsschaltung, bei der sich Signale in derselben Richtung (Gleichtaktsignale) an den beiden Eingangsanschl\u00fcssen gegenseitig aufheben (m \u2013 n), w\u00e4hrend Signale in entgegengesetzter Richtung x \u2013 (-y) entsprechen, was zu einer Verst\u00e4rkung f\u00fchrt. Theoretisch gilt bei Twisted-Pair-Kabeln und Differenzschaltungen m = n und x = y, was der vollst\u00e4ndigen Eliminierung von St\u00f6rsignalen und der Verdopplung der Nutzsignale entspricht. Im tats\u00e4chlichen Betrieb gibt es jedoch gewisse Unterschiede.<\/p>\n

In einem Kabelmantel weisen verschiedene Adernpaare unterschiedliche Verdrillungsl\u00e4ngen auf. Im Allgemeinen liegt die Verdrillungsl\u00e4nge zwischen 38,1 mm und 140 mm, wobei die Verdrillung gegen den Uhrzeigersinn erfolgt und die Verdrillungsl\u00e4nge benachbarter Paare innerhalb von 12,7 mm liegt. Die L\u00e4nge eines Verdrillungszyklus bei Twisted-Pair-Kabeln wird als \u201ePitch\u201c bezeichnet.
